Peacemaking from the Grassroots in a World of Ethnic Conflict
MAIREAD CORRIGAN MAGUIRE has dedicated her life to promoting a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Northern Ireland and is a co-founder of the Community of the Peace People. She was drawn into her leadership position as the result of the tragic death, in August 1976, of two of her nephews and a niece, who were struck and killed on a Belfast street corner by an IRA gunman’s getaway car.
